THE INVISIBLE NATURE OF VIRTUAL PARALYSIS DISABILITY
DISABLED AND DUE TO THE NATURE OF PARALYSIS NO ONE IS AWARE OF THIS.
I WILL GET UP ON A GOOD DAY AND DRIVE TO SOOKE AND SHOP BUT I AM ON THE EDGE ALL THE TIME AS I SUPPORT MYSELF WITH A GROCERY CART AND WHEN I GET BACK HOME TWO HOURS OR LESS FROM WHEN I STARTED TO GET INTO MY CAR, I CAN OFTEN ONLY PUT THE PERISHABLES AWAY.
THEN I WILL SPEND FOUR DAYS ALMOST ENTIRELY LAYING IN OR ON THE BED.
I DID A BIT OF WORK, AN HOUR AND A HALF OR SO, THREE TIMES EVERY SECOND DAY AND I AM ON DAY THREE NOW OF VIRTUAL PARALYSIS.
THAT MEANS THE ONLY TIME I FEEL LIKE I AM NOT UNDER TERRIBLE STRAIN TO SIT OR STAND IS WHEN I LAY THERE MOTIONLESS. IT HELPS TO ELEVATE MY LEGS. EVENTUALLY, USUALLY, I WILL FEEL OK AS LONG AS I DO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE. THIS IS THE SAME PARALYSIS AS I ENDURED, AT ITS WORST FROM 1970 TO 1974, I COULD HARDLY EVER EVEN SIT OE STAND AT ALL. I REMEMBER PLAYING HARMONICA LAYING FLAT ON MY BACK.
Consistent with complete disclosure, include this.
PARALYSIS IS MORE THAN JUST IMMOBILITY.
THERE ARE OTHER LIMITING FACTORS.
ONE IS THE REQUIREMENT TO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE TO REMAIN COMFORTABLE.
ANY MOVEMEMNT COULD DISRUPT THIS AND SOMETIMES SPASM WOULD OCCUR.
THE OTHER MAIN LIMITING FACTOR IS THE REQUIREMENT TO BE IN CERTAIN POSITIONS.
1. THE LAYING ON MY LEFT SIDE WITH MY LEGS CAREFULLY BENT IS THE MOSTY COMMON.
2. RECLINING AT 135* WITH MY LEGS ELEVATED IS THE SECOND MOST COMMONLY USED POSITION.
(I SPENT MOST OF MY TIME LIKE THIS 1970 TO 1974.)
3. PRESSED DOWN FLAT FACE DOWN. RARELY.
4.FLAT ON MY BACK. VERY RARELY.
5. SITTING UP WITH MY BACK SUPPORTED CAN BE A POSITION I HAVE TO ASSUME OCCASIONALLY.
