WHAT HAPPENED IN 1970 THAT ENDED MY ABILITY TO WORK THREE WEEKS ON AND ONE WEEK OFF.

I WAS A PASSENGER IN A MINI COOPER.

WE WERE SWOOPED IN FRONT OF AND WE CRASHED INTO A 1956 FORD. THE SEAT BELTS HAD BEEN KNOTTED INTO A BALL AS MANY PEOPLE DID BACK IN 1970 TO AVOID THE WARNING BUZZER.

I WAS SMASHED INTO THE ROOF AND THE WINDSCREEN AND THEN I FELL OUT ONTO THE PAVEMENT. THAT WAS IT, I NEVER WORKED AT THE RAILROAD AGAIN.

THE ORIGINS OF MY DISABILITY ARE PROBABLY FROM MY BEING STRUCK IN THE HEAD AND PULLED OFF MY FEET BY MY HAIR AND THROWN DOWN BY MY MOTHER UNTIL I WAS TWELVE YEARS OLD.

Postscript: I saw a report which indicated that a neurological syndrome caused symptoms similar to the ones I experience. It could have been caused by the injuries and suppression and domination which I experienced as a child.   AT AGE SEVENTEEN I WAS STRUCK ON MY HARDHAT BY A HAMMER DROPPED OFF A BRIDGE WHICH CAUSED FATIGUE AND MADE ME SUSCEPTIBLE TO GOING INTO A CONVULSION. I NEVER RECOVERED BUT I ADAPTED AND I MANAGED TO KEEP ON WORKING AND GOING TO UNIVERSITY.

I WAS DRIVING A TINY MOTORCYCLE IN 1967. A LEFT TURNING CAR CRASHED INTO ME THROWING ME OFF MY MY BIKE ONTO MY HELMETED HEAD BUT I STILL ENDED UP VIRTUALLY PARALYZED FOR MANY MONTHS. I DID NOT GET MY OUT OF WORK INSURANCE FOR THE FIRST OF TWO TIMES I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IT. I HAD A HEAD INJURY AGAIN.

I RECOVERED ENOUGH TO GO BACK TO WORK AGAIN IN 1969.

I WAS COMPLETELY TRAINED AND CONDITIONED TO WORK AT THE CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILROAD.

WHEN I SEE THE YARD AT NIGHT AM NOT REPELLED NOR DISQUIETED, I FEEL A SURGE OF ENERGY, I FEEL READY TO WORK.

BACK IN 1970 I WOULD WORK THREE WEEKS AND THEN I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE A WEEK OFF. MY BACK WOULD HAVE BECOME UNSTABLE. IT WAS DANGEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE TO GO TO WORK AS THE CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILROAD YARD FOREMAN I WAS EMPLOYED AS.

TODAY APRIL 18 2024 I HAVE EXACTLY THAT PROBLEM. WHEN I STAND UP I BEGIN TO SWERVE AND MY BACK WOULD FALTER AND I WOULD HAVE TO SUPPORT MYSELF ON SOMETHING.

"DISABLED NOT COMPENSATED":THIS IS AN ABSURD OUTCOME FOR MYSELF.

THE INVISIBLE NATURE OF VIRTUAL PARALYSIS DISABILITY:

I AM DISABLED AND DUE TO THE NATURE OF PARALYSIS NO ONE IS AWARE OF THIS.

WHEN I AM AFFECTED THE ONLY TIME I FEEL LIKE I AM NOT UNDER TERRIBLE STRAIN TO SIT OR STAND IS WHEN I LAY THERE MOTIONLESS. THIS IS THE SAME PARALYSIS AS I ENDURED, AT ITS WORST FROM 1970 TO 1974, WHEN I HAD TO RECLINE OR LAY DOWN ALL OF THE TIME. I COULD HARDLY EVEN SIT OR STAND AT ALL. I PLAYED HARMONICA  FLAT ON MY BACK.

Consistent with complete disclosure, include this.

PARALYSIS IS MORE THAN JUST IMMOBILITY.

THERE ARE OTHER LIMITING FACTORS.

ONE IS THE REQUIREMENT TO NOT MOVE A MUSCLE TO REMAIN COMFORTABLE.

ANY MOVEMEMNT COULD DISRUPT THIS AND SOMETIMES SPASM WOULD OCCUR.

THE OTHER MAIN LIMITING FACTOR IS THE REQUIREMENT TO BE IN CERTAIN POSITIONS.

1. THE LAYING ON MY LEFT SIDE WITH MY LEGS CAREFULLY BENT IS THE MOSTY COMMON.

2. RECLINING AT 135* WITH MY LEGS ELEVATED IS THE SECOND MOST COMMONLY USED POSITION.

(I SPENT MOST OF MY TIME LIKE THIS 1970 TO 1974.)

3. PRESSED DOWN FLAT FACE DOWN. RARELY.

4.FLAT ON MY BACK. VERY RARELY.

5. SITTING UP WITH MY BACK SUPPORTED CAN BE A POSITION I HAVE TO ASSUME OCCASIONALLY.
